—-The close relationship between obesity and diabetes!
Obesity and diabetes have a very close relationship. It has been recognized that obesity significantly higher incidence of diabetes . It can be up to four times the general population , and in extreme obesity it is increased to 30 times. The duration and the extent of obesity are related the risk of diabetes. In 80% of people with type 2 diabetes are obese .
Why does obesity cause more diabetes?
We know the pancreas synthesizes insulin which is the main hypoglycemic hormone. People eat a lot of sugar that is absorbed into the bloodstream, then, transported through the blood circulation to body cells. Only relying on insulin, glucose enters into body cells and is used by the body. It will maintain blood sugar at normal levels.
However, the study found that obesity increases the patient’s fat cells in which the binding insulin
capacity is decreased, resulting in insulin insensitivity. In order to meet the metabolic needs of the
body, the pancreas should continue to secrete insulin higher than the normal of 5 to 10 times. That
means obese people need more insulin than normal, and over time, the pancreas is fatigued and
pancreatic insulin synthesis is gradually a failure. Ultimately, if the pancreas is not adequately producing insulin, diabetes can ensue.
If you can promptly adjust or change your living habits, such as weight loss, exercise, improved diet, etc., you can make your own diabetes stop before falling into an abyss.
